StudyPal is operated by IMedia Digital. This policy describes how we handle personal data through studypal.my, StudyPal accounts, education discovery, assessments, applications, institution services and related communications.
Information we collect
- Account and contact details, such as name, email address, telephone number and login information.
- Profile and education information, including interests, study preferences, qualifications and RIASEC assessment responses or results.
- Application information and documents that you choose to upload, such as academic records and supporting materials.
- Institution account, listing, course, applicant-management and business contact information.
- Messages, enquiries, newsletter subscriptions, correction requests and support communications.
- Technical information such as device, browser, approximate location, pages visited, referral information and authentication/session records.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, course and institution discovery, assessments, saved progress and application services.
- Send verification codes, service messages, requested guidance and newsletter communications.
- Transmit applications or enquiries to the institution selected by the student.
- Maintain listings, prevent abuse, secure accounts, investigate errors and improve StudyPal.
- Measure website and campaign performance and comply with legal obligations.
Cookies, local storage and external services
StudyPal uses browser storage to maintain sessions, remember account choices and support site functionality. The site also loads services such as Google advertising measurement, Google Fonts and Google Translate. Social sign-in, email or OTP delivery, hosting and other technical providers may process data when those features are used. Their handling is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
When information may be shared
Information may be shared with institutions you choose to contact or apply to, suppliers that operate StudyPal services, professional advisers, and public authorities where required or permitted by law. We limit disclosure to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested service, administer accounts and applications, resolve disputes, maintain necessary records and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal data, withdraw consent, object to certain processing or direct marketing, and request account or data deletion.
